Sister sites?

Useful information on both

It is notable that this site* is formatted almost exactly like this one, which tells us of the benefits of WikiLeaks. One might infer that they are both produced by the same people.

Our 'leaders'

Just too vicious: What happens when raging, frothing, irrational hate is expressed as “humor” can sometimes be appalling to see.

In any case, this site, too, seems to provide a useful service, offering a slight counterweight to the many right-wing sites dedicated to destroying the presidency of Barack Obama. I’m not enamored of Obama myself — I think he’s fundamentally another corporate centrist doing the bidding of the ruling elite, not unlike Bill Clinton — but I also perceive the disproportionate hate directed his way and suspect that not all of it is free of the taint of bigotry. Because he’s “black” and has a “Muslim” middle name, many on the right (starting, most infamously, with Rush Limbaugh before Inauguration Day) have long been determined to see Obama fail.

To this end, thousands of bloggers have calumniated Obama far beyond the bourne of credibility. We have seen rumors that he’s not an American citizen, that he’s a Muslim, that his real name is Barry Soetoro, that he was born in Kenya, that he’s a communist, a socialist, a fascist, a Zionist, an anti-Semite and a member of the Illuminati. He has been accused of conspiring to destroy BP and of conniving with BP to destroy the oil industry — along with the Gulf of Mexico and everyone who lives near it. And, most of all, Obama has been made to seem a paragon of ineffectuality, a drone who makes pretty speeches but does no real work.

This page makes no attempt to refute these and other, still more outlandish canards that have arisen among the Obama-obsessed. It does, however, conclusively demonstrate that Obama has done a number of things while in office, and it goes on to describe them so that readers can decide for themselves whether he has acted for or against them.

*Originally published as a review of a series of pages enumerating Pres. Obama’s achievements. Update: As of 23 April 2015, this site is still in operation, but its “sister” apparently is not.
